Arrange a space in your kitchen where your children are able to access their own dishes. They can help unload the dishwasher and set the table!

Place your child's clothes in a drawer or another area accessible to him or her. Your child can be involved in picking out his or her clothes as well as putting away laundry. If you want your child's clothes to match- put in items that no matter what your child picks, it will match!
Make using the bathroom easier for your child! Place a stool at a high sink so that your child can reach the faucet to brush teeth or wash hands.

Use plastic, stick on hooks to make cleaning items available to your child. Children desire to be involved in what the adults around them are doing- including cleaning! Involve them!
Purchase a small, plastic cleaning caddy and spray bottle. Fill the spray bottlle with water and bit of vinegar. Children love water and will enjoy cleaning the windows in your home!
If you do not have drawer or cabinet space available to put your child's dishes, a small caddy like this will do wonderfully. It is also important, when possible, to provide your child with dishes that are child sized and easy to carry, as well as durable.
Children enjoy doing things for themselves! Provide them with a small pitcher that they can pour their own drink from- water, milk, juice, etc. Be sure not to put too much liquid, in case of spills!

"It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make a chid's life miserable or joyous. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether the crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized." - Haim Ginott
